Francois Luks, M.D., PhD, FACS

Pediatric Surgeon-in-Chief and Division Chief of Pediatric Surgery at Hasbro Children's Hospital, the pediatric division of Rhode Island Hospital.

About Pediatric Surgery:

Pediatric surgeons specialize in the surgical care of infants and children. Their practice is not limited to the complex congenital problems of the newborn, but extends from infancy to adolescence and covers most organ systems, including head and neck, soft tissues, the abdomen, and the chest.

Care ranges from acquired lumps and bumps to the tumors of childhood, and from the common appendicitis to the complexities of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. University Surgical Associates pediatric surgeons are all Board-Certified in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery. They are also trained in Fetal Medicine and Surgery.

Both standard and advanced laparoscopic techniques are available for treatment of disorders of the chest and abdomen.  Surgical care is provided in conjunction with other pediatric specialists at Hasbro Children's Hospital and Women and Infants' Hospital.
